Reflash an incorrect bios on an Award Bios Chip.

So, lets say you are stupid and flash the wrong bios and now you system won’t boot. I did this today.

Pull the bios chip out and find another motherboard that it will fit into. Don’t put it in yet. Boot the old machine up and then while it is running (at a dos prompt) pull the old chip out carefully. Insert the corrupted bios chip,a nd then start he award dos flash utility like this:

awddos.exe boisflashfilename /F /QI /E

This will force the bios to install on the other chip and then you can put it back in the original motherboard and reflash again.
