Change/Update EPM/Hyperion Shared Services Database Server
STEP 0: Stop ALL EPM Components
STEP 1: Migrated Databases and all objects from previous database server to the new database server.
STEP 2: Execute Configtool on each server to reconfigure the Shared Services/Foundation database connection.
STEP 3: Edit the Database connections within the Weblogic Admin Console for EACH Weblogic Domain (EPM, Planning, ODI).
STEP 4: Update the server name for each EPM component via the EPM registry editor.
STEP 5: ODI
STEP 6: DRM
STEP 7: Update Static Connections from Tables
STEP 2: Execute Configtool on each server to reconfigure the Shared Services/Foundation database connection.
STEP 2A: Windows servers
- Open a command prompt window /SSH session on EACH EPM Server.
- Execute the following on one server at a time. Do not run multiple instances of the configtool utility.
e:\Oracle\middleware\EPMSystem11R1\common\config\11.1.2.0\configtool.bat –enableRegTask

- Verify the correct EPM Home and Instance name and click Next.

- Verify “Connect to a previously configured Shared Services database” is selected. The fields will be set to defaults, not the previous server configuration. Update all of the fields with new server information. Don’t forget to click Advanced Options to set the index and data table names. Click next when finished.


- Uncheck “Check All” and Expand Hyperion Foundation to verify that only Configure Database is selected. Click next.

- Click Next on the verification screen.

- Click Finish after the configuration has completed successfully.

STEP 2B: Linux servers
- Open a SSH session on EACH EPM Server, along with a xming or another X windows viewer/emulator.
- Export the display, if it isn’t already exported.
export DISPLAY=localhost:12.0 (12.0 is an example of the port)
- Execute the following on one server at a time. Do not run multiple instances of the configtool utility.
/usr/local/epm/Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1/common/config/11/1/2/0/configtool.sh –enableRegTask






STEP 3: Weblogic





Click Save at the bottom.

Edit all other datasources and save changes.
Click Activate Changes
